People are very much aware that due to Chinese New Year celebration there is a slow down in supply chain services and shipments, because at this time of the year for most blue-collar employees, this is even the only chance of the whole year to meet their kids & parents and celebrate the Chinese New Year with them.

But this year, due to Corona Virus spread across the city Wuhan, some of the US companies suspended the China operations, restrict travels due to Corona Virus outbreak spread.

As the virus spread continues to spread throughout China and across borders, it’s hitting businesses around the world. The municipal government of Shanghai issued a notice Monday 27th Jan 2020, ordering companies not to resume work after the Chinese New Year Holiday until Feb 3rd, instead of Jan 31st 2020.

Each U.S. and other countries company is responding to the situation in its own way, like:

  • Suspending Operations

  • Restricting Employee Travel,

  • Canceling Celebrations,

  • Cross border travel restriction and more.

In an effort to control the spread of the Virus, Chinese authorities have suspended public transportation in Wuhan, the epicenter of the outbreak, and in at least nine other cities.

Most probably some of the employees will not even be able to get back to work in time. We suggest that you keep a close eye on the situation and evaluate the exact impact on your supply chain ASAP.
